WHAT IS HALT TESTING?

HALT – Highly Accelerated Life Testing efficiently detects defects and vulnerabilities in mechanical and electronic products. It utilizes a specialized testing chamber combining multi-axial broadband vibration with extreme temperature differentials. Incorporating both high and low temperatures to facilitate rapid temperature transitions uncover weaknesses.

By subjecting products to this stress, HALT quickly reveals failures and defects. However, HALT does not replace traditional testing; it complements it and strengthens products for real-world scenarios.

WHY IS HALT
TESTING IMPORTANT?

HALT is a proactive measure that helps companies enhance the robustness and reliability of their offerings. Subjecting products to this stress-laden environment effectively stimulates the manifestation of failures and defects, allowing them to surface much more quickly than conventional environmental simulation or field testing approaches.

HALT vs.
TRADITIONAL TESTS

HALT and traditional tests differ significantly in their approaches and objectives. Traditional tests focus on verifying compliance with predetermined requirements. HALT’s unique stress environment accelerates defect detection, enabling proactive improvements. Enhance product reliability and robustness with HALT, ensuring customer satisfaction and market success.

GETTING STARTED with HALT TESTING

At EKTOS, we offer HALT testing services on a per-day basis, tailored to meet your specific needs. A typical HALT test duration ranges from 2-4 days, depending on factors such as the product type, identified failures, and customer preferences. It’s important to note that HALT tests do not follow rigid standards or procedures, as each test round is customized to the product and customer requirements.

EXPLORE OUR CUTTING-EDGE
HALT CHAMBER

Our test laboratories in Hvidovre and Struer- Denmark are equipped with a state-of-the-art HALT chamber provided by Qualmark Corp, a leading market provider.

The HALT chamber operates within a temperature range of -100 to +200 °C, with 70 to 100 °C transition speeds per minute. It also offers broadband vibration levels of up to 70 g RMS. The vibration table measures 90*90 cm and can support a load of up to 200 kg.
